Mon, Wed Thurs Fri 8-5 Tuesdays 11 AM- 7 PM The first visit is an enjoyable one we welcome patients from infants to 21 year olds The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents arrange the 1st visit by the child's 1st Birthday. We recommend that your child begin routine preventive dental visits by the age of 3. This way, if problems are detected, they can be treated early. You can make the 1st visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. Your child should be informed of the visit and told that Dr. Oana and staff will explain a show and answer any questions. We use a method called TELL SHOW DO. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as needle drill pull hurt. The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non frightening to the child. At the 1st visit your child will have his/her picture taken with our mascot Mona the Molar after which you and your child will be invited in our open bay treatment room to have his/ her teeth cleaned, the necessary x-rays (depending on age of child) will be taken, a presentation on proper oral hygiene and consult with the doctor. If the child is threatened to perform these we will do a lap exam. Lap exam is where the Dr. and the parent sit in a knee to knee position with child on the parent's lap facing the parent. The child will be laid down on the doctor's lap while the parent holds the feet and arms. This position affords the capability for the doctor to examine the teeth and mouth of the infant or small child. Upon leaving, your child will receive a new toothbrush and a bag of surprises.
For your convenience, we have provided a New Patient Health History Form for you to complete and bring with you on your first visit to our practice. To print the form you will need Adobe Acrobat. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, please click here to download it for free to your computer.
TOOTH
FAIRY LETTER - PERSONALIZED
We recommend that children 7 and under be seen earlier in the day. We find that they tend to be less tired and more cooperative, and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. We are aware of school policies which make it more difficult for patients to be seen out of school for any reason. However, dental appointments are an excused absence with a doctors school pass which we=ll be happy to provide. We would like to be able to see school age children after school, however it is not always possible. Therefore to make certain everyone has a fair share of scheduling we suggest alternating after school and during school appointments. Coming LATE for an appointment may require rescheduling. We do not keep others waiting. If you are going to be late please call. If you are 15 min late your appointment will be rescheduled If for any reason you fail to come or cancel an after-school appointment at the last minute you will be rescheduled during school time. Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each Patient we ask that you please notify our office 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment if you are unable to keep your appointment. Another patient who needs our care could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
You must provide our office with a dental insurance card not medical with the proper mailing address and phone number of the insurance company. If this is not available at time of appointment, you will be responsible for payment . Benefits are not determined by our office. Your insurance benefits are a contract between you and your employer. The amount of coverage you will receive will depend on the quality of the plan purchased by your employer, Not the fees of the doctor. No insurance covers 100% If insurance benefits are assigned to the doctor, you will be responsible for paying your deductible and co-payments at the time of service. You are responsible for paying all charges not covered by your insurance company The office can not carry balances longer than 90 days regardless of insurance payment. A $5.00 monthly e-billing will be charged to your account if it is not paid within 90 days, regardless of balance. There will be a $25.00 service charge for all returned checks Parent or guardian who brings the child for their initial visit is responsible for payment independent of what a divorce doctrine may state. Reimbursement must be made between divorced parents. We will not intervene. |
